PERILAKU GENERASI X DAN GENERASI MILLENIAL DALAM PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL

Abstract

This study is entitled Generation X and Millennial Generation Behavior in the use of Social Media at BinaDarma University, Palembang. The purpose of this study is to find out how the behavior of Generation x and Millennial Generation in using Social Media. This research method is descriptive qualitative using the theory of Uses and Gratifications as a study of object analysis in this study is to discuss Generation Behavior x Generation and Millennial in the use of social media on a daily basis. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study can be concluded that the Generation x and Millennial Generation Behavior in the use of Social Media is the same as how it is used. But as a Generation that has not been so contaminated with the development of Generation X technology is more able to control the use of Social Media. Whereas for Millennials who were born in an era of rapid technological development that makes Millennials less able to control in terms of the use of Social Media, it can be said that Millennials are very dependent on the Social Media they use.
