Without proper vocabulary, the English skill of students would be getting difficult or blunt. This study aims to find out the problem faced by students and teacher's strategies to improve students' English vocabulary at SMP Negeri 27 Depok. The sample of this research is 34 students; divided into two classes, A and B class. This research is categorized as the case-study research by conducting a descriptive qualitative method. The steps that writer collects the data by observing and interviewing both students and teacher as well. As a result of this study, there are some problems faced by students in improving vocabulary, as follows: (1) Students of SMP Negeri 27 Depok have difficulty understanding new vocabulary, (2) Students do not memorize vocabulary, and finally, (3) Students are still lacking in terms of writing structure. The strategies that are implemented: (1) Encouraging students to use e-dictionary, (2) Encouraging students to memorize more vocabulary, (3) Teachers teach through some classical games, and lastly, (4) The teacher gives students a task to complete vocabulary exercises or writing sentences using new words to practice their writing skills. Literacy activities can improve English as a basic skill for communication. Kampung Literasi 26 Ilir tried to provide English literacy facilities for children with a reading corner to hone their ability to understand analytical, critical, and reflective information. The study aims to describe the implementation of a reading corner to improve children's English literacy. It used a descriptive analysis with a case study technique. Data was obtained from observation. The result is that the implementation of a reading corner to improve children's English literacy is carried out with reading assistance and comprehension of English reading content for children aged 4-6 years and facilitating reading activities for children aged 7-11 years. At the end of the activity, children aged 7-11 years analyzed and criticized the content of the reading and reflected on the results of their reading by presenting. The learning program used in learning English at UBD is a program with an English learning approach that emphasizes the language communication needs approach based on each student's major or study program. The data in this case was obtained from the Language Center (LC) of </em><em>Universitas </em><em>Bina Darma. The data was analyzed quantitatively using the Likert scale calculation method, which is an analysis that looks for the percentage of service quality intervals (gap) based on questionnaires given to 300 students. From the results of the service quality indicator questionnaire, it is known that based on the distance/interval (gap) the feasibility value using 5 indicators given to 300 students representing all majors who are studying English courses at LC obtained a result of 81.75%, which means that the learning program which is carried out is very worth it. The weakness of this program is the lack of teaching aids or media needed for teaching English, which makes the teaching process sometimes experience obstacles and there is still a lack of evaluation process for the English language learning program at LC.</em><em>K</em><em>ey words</em><em>: </em><em>LC</em><em>, </em><em>English</em><em>, </em><em>dan likert</em><em> Scale</em><em>&nbsp;</em>Abstrak</p> <p>Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisa proses pelaksanaan program pembelajaran mata kuliah bahasa Inggris di Universitas Bina Darma dan efektifitasnya dan menganalisa kelayakan program prmbelajaran yang diterapkan di Universitas Bina Darma guna meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi aktif dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Program pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di UBD adalah program dengan pendekatan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang menekankan pada pendekatan kebutuhan komunikasi bahasa berdasarkan jurusan atau program studi masing-masing mahasiswa. Data pada kasus ini diperoleh dari <em>Language Centre</em> (LC) Universitas Bina Darma. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan metode penghitungan skala <em>likert</em> yaitu merupakan analisis yang mencari persentase interval (gap) kualitas pelayanan berdasarkan kuisioner yang diberikan kepada 300 mahasiswa. Dari hasil kuisioner indikator kualias pelayanan diketahui bahwa berdasarkan jarak/interval (gap) nilai kelayakannya dengan menggunakan 5 indikator yang diberikan kepada 300 mahasiswa yang mewakili semua jurusan yang sedang belajar mata kuliah bahasa Inggris di LC didapat hasil 81,75% yang berarti bahwa program pembelajaran yang dijalankan bernilai sangat layak. A qualitative research design was used in this study. Texts from sanduk-sanduk papalaku's daily served as the data. The data was gathered through participant observation and interviews. The gathered data was analyzed by the transitivity system includes process, participant and circumstances (Halliday &amp; Matthiessen, 2014). The result shows that there are five types of processes, nine types of participants and seven types of circumstances. The dominant process is verbal (31%), the dominant participants are carrier and attribute (17%), and the dominant circumstance is place (29%). The ideational metafunction in sanduk-sanduk papalaku of AKUR Sunda Wiwitan daily life portrays verbal expressions of gratitude, request, and submission to God. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan melalui Jigsaw dengan tujuan yaitu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karya ilmiah mahasiswa yang masih rendah dan menggali tanggapan serta melibatkan partisipasi mahasiswa terhadap metode tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan model KEmmis dan McTaggart yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Penelitian dilakukan selama dua siklus dengan masing-masing siklus dua kali pertemuan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah pre-test post-test, angket, dan lembar observasi.</em> <em>Hasil dari penelitian ini diolah memakai statistik sederhana dengan hasil belajar yaitu pre-test siklus 1 adalah 60 dengan post-test 68, sedangkan pada siklus 2 pre-test 65 dan post-test 78. People can form good relationships by communicating with one another. They must understand what the speaker says in order to communicate effectively. In this case, learning speech act theory is critical to addressing these issues. Speech acts are actions that can be performed through utterance. This study aims at analyzing types of speech act and the classifications of speech act in the movie To All The Boys Always and Forever. The writer used a descriptive method to analyze the data of this research. The descriptive method was applied in this research to analyze the utterances of the main character and the interlocutor through the transcriptions of the “To All The Boys Always and Forever” movie. The writer analyzed the data by categorizing the utterances of the main character by using John Searle’s theory then matching the meaning of context with the definitions of locutionary, illocutionary and, perlocutionary.The result in locutionary acts, there are 188 utterances that uttered by Lara Jean as a main character. In terms of illocutionary acts, representatives get the highest number of Lara Jean’s utterances which are up to 53.01% and, in terms of perlocutionary there are two acts which occured to Lara Jean’s utterances. This research is a type of qualitative research using Rusminto's theory (2009). The data collected in this study used observation techniques and recording techniques. The source of the data is from Shireen Sungkar's Instagram social media in the form of videos in Shireen Sungkar's Instagram channel. The data of this research uses speech in Shireen Sungkar's instagram advertisements taken in the video of Shireen Sungkar's instagram social media. The analysis techniques used by researchers in this study are (1) transcribing existing data (2) classifying data (3) grouping according to forms of speech acts (4) analyzing data (5) concluding research results. Based on the data and discussion, the researcher obtained and found that the advertising speech in Shireen Sungkar's Instagram video used illocutionary speech acts as much as 6 data. The illocutionary speech acts found are assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive consisting of 1 assertive illocutionary speech act, 3 directive illocutionary speech acts, 1 commissive illocutionary speech act, and 1 expressive speech act. This study delves into the analysis of slang usage in the film "Clueless." The primary objectives are to identify the various word formation processes employed and the functional roles of slang among the characters. Focused on the 2018 production of "Clueless" by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, this research adopts a library-based approach using descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection involves documenting slang instances from the movie script, followed by a systematic tabulation and theoretical framework explanation. The analysis employs perspectives on word formation processes and the functional dynamics of slang. Findings reveal thirty-two distinct slangs categorized into six word formation processes and seven functional roles. Additionally, meanings are inferred through contextual understanding and reference to dictionaries.
