Abstract

The purpose of this study was to build a Group Decision Support System (GDSS) to determine the best employees to apply the Simple Additive Weighted (SAW) method.  GDSS is a development of the Decision Support System, the advantage is that this system involves more than one decision maker so that the decision making process becomes more transparent and objective. The assessment team for the GDSS includes human resources and colleagues. There are 8 criteria used in the assessment, namely : attitude to life (C1), personality (C2), integrity (C3), orientation to work (C4), attitude towards safety (C5), society (C6), household life (C7) and the application of TPM and 5R ( C8).  Each of these criteria has sub criteria.  In this GDSS, the SAW method is applied as a management model.  There are 3 main steps in the SAW method, namely determining the weight for each criterion, then normalizing the decision matrix and finally calculating the preference value for each alternative. The application of the SAW method in GDSS has been proven to avoid subjectivity and provide more objective decision recommendations.
