Abstract

This research is entitled the convergence of culture mixing the Ayyeb and Palembang
ethnicities. The purpose of this study is to find out how the Ayyeb and Palembang ethnic cultures
integrate the culture under each ethnicity and to find out what kind of culture was born from the
mixture of these two ethnicities. This research method is qualitative. The theory used in this research
is the theory of cultural convergence. The object of this research is the Ayyeb and Palembang ethnic
who live in the Kuto Batu sub-district, the Sei Jeuru II hall RT 018. Data collection techniques used
in this study are observation, interviews, literature study and documentation. The results of this
study can be concluded that there has been a change in behavior, culture and religious traditions
between ethnic groups. The two ethnic groups are accustomed to cultures that meet in everyday life
and activities that are customary in nature.
