PEMETAAN PROTRET KEMERDEKAAN PERS DI SUMATERA SELATAN
Abstract
The press has an important role as the guardian of democracy in a democratic country. In reality there are many elements of interests that have castrated the independence of the press. This chaos is based on interest tensions that have an impact on the regulation and governance of the mass media as the umbrella of the press. The biggest challenge of the press today is freedom of the press from all aspects of interest. The theoretical footing to explore this problem is Peter K. Pringle. et.all, who said that there are four factors that influence mass media content, namely: The Audiencece, The Broadcaster, The Advertiser, The Regulator. Descriptive Qualitative Approach will be used in this study with the method of collecting interview data with stakeholders and press shareholders in South Sumatra and documentation (literatery).
